INGLEBURN RESERVE

Public BBQ

Ingleburn Reserve strikes you as a park caught between potential and progress. The recently upgraded playground shows promise, paired with a clean sensor-operated toilet block that actually works – a minor miracle in public facilities. The 800-metre mountain bike track offers a quick jaunt through bushland, though serious riders might find it more of an appetiser than a main course. Weekend picnickers can be territorial about the tables, which is mildly annoying when you're hauling birthday party supplies. The real adventure lies in the unmarked walking tracks leading to the weir – about a kilometre of bumpy, rocky terrain that'll test your resolve with children in tow. Along the way, small cave-like crevices provide natural rest stops, and the river access rewards persistent hikers. The park's dog-friendly approach and shaded seating areas create a pleasant atmosphere, though construction work continues to reshape sections. One toilet for the entire reserve creates queues, and the BBQ facilities feel sparse for the space available. The access road requires careful navigation – leave the lowered car at home.
